Sales Engineer

About the Role:
Rain seeks a Sales Engineer, a vital role bridging technical sales, RFP management, and the seamless handoff between sales and implementation. The ideal candidate thrives in technology-focused sales environments and is adept at working closely with cross-functional teams. This role demands proactive engagement in technical aspects of sales, effective communication to manage complex RFPs, and coordination to ensure smooth transitions to implementation teams.

Responsibilities:
- Support technical aspects of sales by articulating Rain’s technical value proposition and product capabilities.
- Prepare and develop technical demonstrations in order to explain our company's products or services to customers
- Manage the end-to-end RFP process, ensuring comprehensive and competitive submissions.
- Facilitate the handoff process between sales and implementation teams, ensuring a smooth transition and clear communication.
- Engage in executive-level discussions and presentations with potential clients.
- Discuss and invoke conversation around needs and pains in the HR tech space with customers
- Maintain CRM with accurate and up-to-date information on leads, prospects, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support both before and during calls
- Listen to customers' technical requirements and needs and relay this feedback/information back to the product for development
- Assist in training members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services
- Must be able to be flexible, agile, organized and detail oriented
- Project manage many different opportunities at any given time (executive overview, discovery, demos, follow up meetings)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CRMs (Hubspot preferred), and a clear understanding of the technical sales process.
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales or in an SE capacity supporting SaaS, B2B sales
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills
- The ability to relay technical information to non-technical customers
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills

- Full Suite HCM experience with a focus on Payroll and Workforce Management is a plus

The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: $120,000
Maximum: $180,000
Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors.
