As the Director of Business Development, you will work on the strategy for Rain to generate new meaningful partnerships. Your role will focus on prioritizing the right verticals, industries, and types of partners to go after and build the relationships needed in order to help move through the process for new partner acquisition. This will include outreach, presentations, collaboration, and contract negotiation. You will build and manage a team of Business Development Managers to help execute the plan at a high level. You will work with our leadership team as needed for opportunities and commercials. You will help navigate potential integrations alongside operations for any productized partnerships. At times your organization will be responsible for being a point of contact with partner launches to help progress the partnership based on what is necessary. You will work alongside our Partnerships and Channel Sales leaders to help achieve our organizational objectives and goals.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate and identify organizations that would benefit from a partnership with Rain—and where Rain would also benefit in return—to build a targeted list of potential partners. Map the key executives within those organizations and conduct outreach to secure meetings and present Rain’s partnership value proposition.
- Establish and cultivate new relationships with potential partners, gaining an intimate understanding of their goals to drive mutual success.
- Provide expert guidance to prospective partners, leveraging your deep understanding of Rain & EWA (Earned Wage Access) to help them optimize their go-to-market strategy through their partnership with Rain.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Sales, Product, Marketing, and Data Analytics to ensure proper expectations are met or exceeded. This includes facilitating seamless onboarding, advocating for necessary product changes, and addressing any challenges.
- Analyze partner performance data, discern trends, and deliver actionable insights to expand strategy and relationships within any signed partner that can have potential for additional productization.
- Identify avenues for partnership expansion, introducing new features, solutions, and services that align with partners' offering objectives.
